How can the non-visible be made perceptible and/or comprehensible? Or if we are to resign ourselves to the unknown and unseen, what can be traced via the simple constructs of language and togetherness? What cannot be translated?
Following the non-visible project that took place in Beijing in the summer of 2013, a series of closed dialogues were organised in an attempt to find perspectives around discernment, cognition, appearance and absence. Participants from the cognitive and computer sciences, architecture, philosophy, film and art took part in a collaborative analysis of the terms, and their gathering became each time the grammar for an embodied meta-dialogue loosely recalled in the next meeting. The non-visible aims in this instance to be a methodology of flux, whereby forms of questioning deconstruct and digest in continuity.
